Fluorsid S.p.A., established in 1969, based in Cagliari, Sardinia (Italy), is a World leading manufacturer of inorganic fluorochemicals for the aluminium industry with an annual capacity of over 100,000 tonnes of aluminium fluoride and synthetic cryolite.
Fluorsid is also one of the World's foremost producers of anhydrite for the building industry, the largest Italian supplier of synthetic gypsum to the domestic cement industry and an important producer of sulphuric acid, with an annual capacity of 170,000 tonnes and a co-production of 35 GWh per year of electric power.
Fluorsid is a privately owned company, employing 125 people directly and more than 250 subcontractors. In 2008, Fluorsid had a turnover of €108 million with exports to 30 different countries. Over the last decade, investments exceeding €50 million have boosted the company’s competitiveness in the industry, quality of the products and overall sustainability.
